A city building permit was issued Monday afternoon at the city hall to J. H. Butt Co. Inc. of Chillicothe for the construction of a building to house The Big Bear supermarket, the first of several stores to occupy the Frontier Shopping Center, Inc., off Glendale Road.
Cost of the structure is estimated at $130,000. Laying of the footers is expected to begin about the middle of August.
The structure, which will be of brick and tile, will have a frontage of 187 feet and will be 122 feet deep. It will be one story.
Present plans call for a 600-foot frontage in the new development, to provide ample room for other stores to be announced later.
